Kobie Ali & PapaShake
Weened on jazz, r&b, rock and soul, the music of Kobie Ali is a true reflection of all of these influences. Growing up in the Washington, DC area, the influence of the DC punk movement as well as the homegrown sounds of go-go music shaped the early songwriting styles. From the heavy sounds of I.S.O, to the hard funk of Bovine and Papashake, the sound has graduated to an unprecedented mix of musical diversity. After performing in the Boston area for the past 5 years with a full band, as well as fronting the band Lovesexy, a tribute to the music of Prince (which packs the house with fans of the Artist), plus working with Justin Beech and The Shoe (appearing throughout the east coast opening on tour for comedian George Lopez) Kobie Ali is continuing to work throughout New England and the East Coast. Stay tuned!
