Pressure Cooker
Pressure Cooker is Boston’s original old-school reggae band. The group formed in 1997 with a shared passion of Jamaican ska, rocksteady, and reggae music of the sixties and seventies. With these roots as the guide, Pressure Cooker proudly crafted a uniquely Boston old-school reggae sound, reminiscent of the classics and distinguished by infectious rhythm and memorable songs — delivered by an all-star, horn-infused supergroup.
Pressure Cooker has performed live for a decade, and independently released five full-length CD’s. Fronted by lead singer Craig Akira Fujita and backed by a core of talented Boston-area musicians, the band has thrilled audiences at clubs and festivals spanning from New England to Chicago. Over the years, Pressure Cooker has played in support of top artists of reggae music including Toots & the Maytals, Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs, The Wailers, Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan, The Skatalites, Culture, Laurel Aitken, Eek-A-Mouse, Julian Marley, and Sister Carol.
Pressure Cooker music has reached audiences worldwide through DJ’s, distribution outlets such as CD Baby & iTunes Music store, niche CD compilations in the U.S., Japan, France, Germany and Poland, and the Chicago label Jump Up Records for the 2004 album Burning Fence. The ABC Family network included songs from the 2003 album Committed in two episodes of the television program Knock First. Pressure Cooker received nominations to the Boston Music Awards in 1999, 2000, and 2004.

DELA & Steady Rock Easy
In the spring of 2018, DELA left California and moved back to the East Coast. He immediately began reconnecting with former band mates from American reggae stalwarts John Browns Body. With the help of drummer Tommy Benedetti and former trombonist Brian Thomas and with the additions of former G-Love bassist Timo Shanko, guitarist Van Martin (Big Daddy Kane, Organically Good Trio), and keyboardist Cameron Greenlee (The Skatalites), DELA formed Steady Rock Easy.
They have been bringing the music of Opening Night to clubs around the northeast and have also begun work on a follow-up album to the Stoopid Records release.
