STIG is the world’s first and finest four-piece power trio. Featuring Ryan Stigmon on the saxophone, Thomson “Soy Boy” Knoles on the keys, Jack McChesney on the drums, and Artie Sadtler on the bass guitar, the band brings their improvised psychedelic funk sound from the hills of Asheville, NC to the eyes and ears of their fans across the US. The band is inspired by a wide array of music, from the expeditious improvisation of Herbie Hancock and Phish, to the energetic complexity of Snarky Puppy and Meshuggah. Check out a STIG show and you’re guaranteed to be drawn into a dynamic and ever-changing groove that doesn’t stop ‘till the guys walk offstage. No two songs are the same from night to night, giving the band plenty of elbow room to take them in any direction they choose. Between the high-octane improvisation and low-down and dirty FUNK, STIG is not a band you want to miss!
The Jive Tribe
Originally from Boulder, CO, The Jive Tribe was formed in 2015 with the goal of bringing enjoyable, soulful music to listeners. Four years down the line, they find themselves creating more original music than ever before, with a Fall 2019 tour hot on the heels of a sophomore album release. Catch any of their live performances and you’ll find them moving seamlessly between funk, soul, and hip-hop beats. As the members grow, so does the sound, which remains modern and fresh through the use of synthesizers and on-stage effects.
Good Trees River Band
Blending a wide variety of influences into their own unique psychedelic sound, Good Trees River Band are a can’t miss act in the Northeast music scene. Since the release of their self-titled debut demo in 2017, the Providence-based quintet have developed quite a reputation for their sizzling, improv-heavy live sets. Ranging from heavy fuzz rock to latin dance to twangy southern-rock, GTRB covers a lot of musical territory, but always maintain a groove that audiences can’t help but dance to.
