Tory Silver

Special Guests: Gentle Temper, Jakals, Stains of a Sunflower

Saturday, December 16 @ 6:00 pm | $10 Note: 6pm Doors

Tory Silver

Tory Silver is a singer/songwriter from Massillon, Ohio, currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Inspired largely by bossa nova, folk, and rock music, Tory uses these influences to create a fresh sound with a distinct punch. Notably known for her interesting chord progressions and warm voice, Silver uses her music not only as an outlet lyrically, but as an opportunity to create something captivating on the guitar. Studying the guitar for the last decade, Tory’s music is crafted with detail in mind. Silver got her start performing on stage at her college campus in Elsah, IL. “Tory’s music is FRESH,” says Will Buchanan of The Bonbon Plot, “She combines an understated vocal approach and unpretentious, real-life lyrics with seriously unique harmonic language and song structure to create a refreshing sound. Whenever I hear her music I recognize her sound *instantly*.”-Will Buchanan of The Bonbon Plot

Gentle Temper

Gentle Temper is Ryan Meier and Marion Earley, an ocean-folk duo with a blues tide from the bayous of Allston, MA. Marion and Ryan met while attending college in Boston and began writing and playing together in their final year. Their live sound builds on a sturdy foundation of lyrical storytelling and animated harmonies.

GT_ have opened for national touring acts LOLO, Bombadil, and 2014 NPR Favorite New Artist The Family Crest. In July 2017, they had the pleasure of performing at the Chikombuso Widow’s and Orphans annual fundraiser at the Jonathan Edwards Winery in Connecticut.

The pair are currently recording their original material, due out in 2018, at Red Bull Studios in New York.

A Boston-based alternative rock band, Jakals’ visceral, soul-aching vocals and melodic, driving instrumentals create a tempestuous sound that rips open the confines of contemporary rock music. Jakals are unrestrained, exploring the internal turmoil that results from the harrowing experience of human existence. With dynamic songs as complex as the emotions and personal struggles they grapple with, Jakals have been praised for achieving “a perfect stride between the personal openness of singer/songwriters and the more fully realized trappings of a traditional rock ensemble” (Crossfader Magazine).

Jakals released their debut album in May 2017. On Keep Mother Sane, Jakals question what it means to be sane in a society that doesn’t seem to be sane itself. They lay bare a reality of hollow communication, strained interactions, profound loneliness, and an intense desire to be understood.

Stains of a Sunflower

Based out of Boston MA, STAINS OF A SUNFLOWER, is a 4-piece future-folk rock band from Allston. Led by San Franciscan singer-songwriter Natalie Renée, the band incorporates strong influences of 60’s and 70’s Folk and Blues with a uniquely bombastic and modern Rock sound.
